Microsoft certified systems administration certification is launched recently only in the year 2002. This certification will give all credentials to the candidates that are required for implementing; managing as well as troubleshooting the operating needs that is based upon the windows 2003 server.

Requirements for the certification with the candidates:

Since MSCA certification is the mid level certification and hence candidates should have at least 6 months to 1 year of work experience in the information technology field or in desktop operating system, network operating system and network infrastructure etc. This certification will be the best to the candidates who wish to implement new networks from the existing networks. For implementing new networks, MSCA certification knowledge is necessary. Since this certification is focused on many technologies, it will not retire and even upgrades are not necessary to replace the certification.

For getting MSCA certification, candidates need to write 3 examinations which are mandatory and one elective paper which is choice based. Mandatory examinations (3 exams)

1. Exam code 70-290 and the exam name is maintaining as well as managing windows 2003 server.
2. Exam code 70-291 and the exam name is implementing, managing and maintaining windows server 2003 network infrastructure.
3. Exam code 70-270 and exam name is configuration, installation and administering windows XP professional.

The elective papers option will be given to the candidates from Microsoft and the subjects will change every year. Some of the elective papers are:

1. Exam code 70-089 and the exam name is implementing, designing as well as managing the Microsoft 2003 server management.
2. Exam code 70-228 and the exam name is installation, configuration as well as administration of Microsoft SQL 2000 server edition.
3. Exam code 70-236 and the exam name is configuration of Microsoft exchange 2007 server.
